Bodies in Crisis

Cuerpos en Crisis

Amid a deep social conflict, the filmmaker, a blind disability activist who now lives in Canada, returns to her native Chile to follow five social actors who embark on a transformative process to dignify their lives.

In October 2019, five social actors from the disability, migrant, LGBTQ+ and anti-prison movements join millions of Chileans who, claiming dignity, take to the streets. The revolt culminates in a dramatic constituent process that, despite of the devastating results of the exit plebiscite, becomes a point of reference for those who fight for a more equitable world. By embracing victories and defeats, the five activists remind us that building happier societies for All is a lifelong task.
